The Botanical Diversity is Stunning

We are underway with reservations and bookings for our Wine n Wildlife trip to South Africa! A couple of people have had a change of plans, so we have a few openings on our trip for April/May 2017. Send me an email and let's get you confirmed on the trip of a lifetime! Some of the stuff that we'll see when we are there include and amazing variety of Fauna and Flora......

There are 6 Floral kingdoms on planet Earth and South Africa is the home to a unique kingdom all by itself.

South Africa carried the dubious title of being home to the world’s hottest hotspot, the Cape Floral Region. Situated at the tip of Africa, this majestic floral kingdom is the only to be fully contained within a single country.

Incredibly it has the highest known concentration of plant species in the world, its nearest rival, the South American rain forest, has only one third the number of species. Even more remarkable is that 70 percent of the Cape’s impressive 9,600 plant species grow nowhere else on Earth

From subtropical rainforests on South Africa's east coast bordering Mozambique to the Namib desert (oldest desert in the world) on the west coast bordering Namibia, there is a popular saying "visit the world in one country". Our group will have an opportunity to visit the Kirstenbosch botanical garden and have an up close view of this stunning flora

A little piece of trivia for you....about 40% of all the plant species that pretty up our suburbs and gardens in San Diego, call South Africa home! We'll also be able to take a stroll through the treetop canopies of the 430 tree species on the newly completed Boomslang walkway...

If you love nature and the outdoors, you've come to the right place!
